Colocation Services from AMHosting
AMHosting offers server co-location at our Reno, NV location. We provide clients and businesses around the world a facility to collocate one or more servers in safe and secure lockable cabinets placed in a dual-alarm server room offering 24/7/365 operation.
We offer multiple solutions to fit you and your businesses needs, from individual 1U servers to full lockable racks. Direct access to your equipment is available Monday-Friday 7:30AM-5:30PM and on nights and weekends by appointment. Our support staff also provides on-site support for system reboots and power cycles.
Our power system uses APC brand UPS battery backup units, fed by an 85-kw standby diesel generator that is kept ready to start 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our network connectivity is mutiple gigabit lines to different providers for excellent redundancy. We use a two-ring security system in the server room that is monitored by security cameras. We also have dual air-conditioning systems that keep our facility cool even on the hottest Reno summer day.

Colocation Per Server
Each server comes with .075 amps of UPS-backed power in a single power feed, 2 IP addresses and 400 GB/monthly traffic based on MRTG 95th percentile measurement, and remote power control via the APC MasterSwitch access.
Colocation Rack Space
Each rack package consists of a set amount of vertical mounting space in our racks, generator (but not UPS) backed power, and network and bandwidth allocations. Shared rack space as well as exclusive rack space is available.
Equipment Requirements
Each server must be in a standard 19-inch RETMA rack-mount case no deeper than 36 inches. If the system supports video, it must use a standard VGA (DE-15 connector) for video out and accept PS/2 or USB keyboard connections. Serial consoles (RS-232-based) are also supported. Power is 115V 60 Hz using standard blade-type connections.
Customers are responsible for installing all the necessary security updates and any security measures into their servers. Remote power control is standard for our "by the server" offerings and is not offered as part of a rack space lease; the customer of quarter-rack and larger services should consider including a remote-controlled power switch as part of the equipment.
Bandwith Measurement
MRTG 95th Percentile- The industry standard is to measure network bandwidth usage using the near-peak rate of transfer. Our measurement system measures transmission rate in each direction in five-minute samples. After sorting the measurements, we discard the top five percent of the readings and take the resulting top reading in each direction as the five-minute transfer rate. The sum of the transmit and receive values is then multiplied by the product of the days in the month and 2880, the number of samples per day. MRTG access is also given to the customer as well.
